This series contains records created and maintained by schools in the Franklin School District (#11) in Tripp County. Records include daily attendance and classification registers, information about the hot lunch program, book inventories, reports, lists of teachers and school board officers, and information about the Young Citizens’ League. The records were discovered in an old school house purchased by Merle and Ruth Calhoon.

Records include petitions, wills, abstracts, bonds, correspondence, school district records, butcher and slaughterhouse reports, stallion pedigrees, equipment inventories, financial statements, plat orders, maps, licenses and registrations, insurance reports, organizational newsletters, mothers’ pension records, and reports from state institutions.

This series consists of reports on 5”x 8” cards prepared by Young Citizen League (YCL) groups in each school district, and submitted to the Lawrence County Superintendent of School between 1947 and 1958. These reports record the membership numbers and activities of each group, as well as equipment available to the group and group finances. The cards are organized alphabetically according to the name of the school district.
