The collection consists of twenty color slides and one 4-H presentation titled, “South Dakota History – Our Heritage.” The purpose of the 4-H project, during the early 1970s, was to encourage individuals to learn more about their state. Images in the presentation include: the State Capitol, Pasque flowers, camping at Lake Traverse, Fort Sisseton, a scene from the Passion Play, Laura Wilder home in Desmet, Crazy Horse marker, Prairie Village, Corn Palace, Stave Church, Calamity Jane’s grave, Harvey Dunn painting “After School,” Mt. Rushmore, Borglum’s Hall of History, a women looking at photos, a museum exhibit with fossil, Ima Crisman, a girl with a book, and a sunset scene. Included is a seven page typed narrative that is used in conjunction with the slide.
