South Dakota County Auditors—Photographs, 1914
Content Description
The collection consists of two 8x10 black and white photographs, one of which is mounted. The first, unmounted image is of the South Dakota County Auditors standing on the steps of the South Dakota State Capitol, dated February 17, 1914. The image is credited to Leeland Art Co. O.S. Leeland was a photographer in Pierre. The second, mounted image was taken inside the Governor’s waiting room, showing the Edwin H. Blashfield mural “Spirit of the West.” It is not known for certain, but assumed that the image is also of the South Dakota County Auditors from 1914. This particular image was taken by R. L. Kelly of Pierre. The donor received the photographs from Francis Zangle and it is believed that a Mr. Zangle is present in both of the images.
