The collection consists of a transcript letter written in December 20, 1894 from Elias Whitt, then living in Sturgis (S.D.) to his mother Mary Tabor Whitt Robinson. Elias’ letter mentions the bath springs, a local photographer, the grave sites of “Texas” and “Comanche Bill.” The rest of the letter highlights the scenery of the Black Hills of South Dakota. The letter includes names of his traveling companions, hunting for deer, small local towns, and their trek throughout the Black Hills.
