Content Description

The collection consists of correspondence, news clippings and maps of the Chicago and Northwestern rail line. The collection mainly deals with the proposed abandonment of the Chicago and Northwestern rail line between Pierre and Rapid City in 1983. Most of the correspondence and news clippings deal with the proposed abandonment. Also included is some history of the bridge construction. The maps include schematic drawings of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Bridge in Pierre and a railway bridge near Wasta, SD. A list of the maps is provided.
