The collection consists of one DVD of an oral history interview with Dayton Canaday taken in November 26, 2005. The interviewer was Chris Houlette. The interview concerns Mr. Canaday’s service in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and the Cold War. The interview runs a little over fifty seven minutes. The interview was conducted through the Veterans History Project, American Folklife Center, Library of Congress. The Library of Congress collection number is AFC/2001/001/33887. Mr. Canaday was Director of the South Dakota State Historical Society from 1968-1987.
