Content Description

The collection consists of one panoramic photo reprint of the 1914 State Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) and Woman’s Relief Corps (W.R.C.) in Redfield (S.D.). The photo shows a number of G.A.R. and W.R.C. members in front of a building with much of Redfield decorated in a patriotic theme with American flags and bunting. The photo is shows the view looking south down main street. Also included are a band, World War I era soldiers in military dress, and a number of town’s people and children. The photo is credited to Nicholas A. Brothers (Aberdeen, S.D.). The panoramic photo is framed and enclosed in two pieces of mat board, and the reprint was printed in two separate pieces. The photo will be kept within the mat board. Total dimensions: 8” x 26 ½”
