Clara Lobdell--Glass Plate Collection
Content Description
The collection consists of thirteen glass plate negatives of street and home scenes in Rapid City (S.D.), the Harney Hotel (Rapid City, S.D.), and Agriculture scenes in Pennington County including crops, haying, irrigation, and other farm scenes. Also included is a horse drawn carriage on the plains, an Indian Camp, and the home of Cap Gardner at Piedmont (S.D.) associated with the Rapid City to Deadwood state route. The images were found in the State Archives vault. The items were donated by Clara Lobdell in April of 1979. No further provenance or correspondence is associated with the collection. The glass plates were scanned and added to the South Dakota Digital Archives in October 2012. 2012-10-03-309 to 2012-10-04-302
