Content Description

The collection consists of forty one lantern slides. The main topics included in the collection are Sitting Bull, Wounded Knee Massacre, and Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (S.D.). Other individuals in the collection include Red Cloud, Young Man Afraid of Horses, Rain in the Face, Curley (Scout), Red Tomahawk, Gall, Wolf Necklace, One Bull, Big Foot, Buffalo Bill, General Nelson A. Miles, and Gen. George Armstrong Custer. There are also a number of photographs of unidentified Native Americans and of Comanche the horse that survived the battle of the Little Bighorn. Some of the lantern slides include the following information: McIntosh Battery and Optical Company, 141 & 143 Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL. The collection also includes correspondence between Wandell Mooney and Will Robinson in 1953. The correspondence will be kept in the accession file. A content list is provided.
