Content Description
This collection consists of sixty five color slides that were taken in 1972 during a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota. The photographer was Lorraine J. Listiak. The images are primarily of Mount Rushmore, Mount Rushmore Visitors Center, the Needles Highway, Custer State Park, Powder House Lodge (Keystone, S.D.), and Sylvan Lake. Some of the color slides are commercial, produced by GAF Corporation in 1962. Lorraine J. Listiak, a Phoenix, Arizona resident took these images in the 1970s. The slides were donated to the Arizona Historical Society. Two packages of slides that were out of their collection scope were donated to the South Dakota State Historical Society. One package of slides was forwarded to the Montana State Archives because it contained images of that area.
