This collection consists of one black and white postcard measuring 5 ½” x 3 ½” of the Black Hills Ordinance Depot at Igloo (S.D.). The military base existed from about 1942 through 1971. Igloo is a ghost town now. The photo was by Hultgren. The postcard was addressed to Russell Thompson’s children in Stockbridge, M.I., and is postmarked December 4, 1946. “Just arrived here and am set for room in officers quarters food etc. Some village here at the end of the world. Write to me Room H, B.O.Q. Igloo, S.D. Signed “Russ”
