Mary (McKenna) Murphy Autobiography
Content Description
This collection consists of an autobiographical account and accompanying photographs of Mary (McKenna) Murphy. The McKenna family moved from Canada to Iowa about 1869. The family moved to Bon Homme County in 1878. Mary McKenna married Dennis Murphy in 1883. The write-up includes the life of Mary McKenna and her family, written by Mary Mckenna when she was 82 years old in 1946. This is a handwritten account of activities that Mary (McKenna) Murphy remembers from her childhood and early adult life. The family started in Canada, lived for a time in Iowa before traveling to Bon Homme County in Dakota Territory. There are two writeups, and though similary, they appear to be different editions.
