This collection consists of newspaper clippings, a scrapbook, Claude A. VanEpps memorial booklet and information on Guy VanEpps. The VanEpps were early residents of South Dakota. Claude was born in 1906 in Yankton to William and Addie VanEpps who were early settlers to the Yankton area. Claude graduated from Yankton High School and Yankton College. He worked for the Boy Scout organization in New Jersey until his retirement in 1972. Claude married Martha Grow, daughter of Fred C. and Nina Grow in 1932.They had five children; Betti Carol, Dorothy, Marilyn, Robert and David. Claude was active in the Presbyterian Church, was a photographer and ornithologist. Martha graduated from Watertown schools and Yankton College. She met Claude while attending Yankton College. She was active in the church, Girl Scouts and was a housewife. Martha died in 2000 and Claude died in 2001, both in Idaho.
