Content Description

The collection mainly consists of newspaper clippings concerning the history of LeBeau (S.D.) and Ghost Towns in South Dakota. Also included are a photo and negative of Main Street in Cottonwood (S.D.) and an oversized color photo (18”x 24”) of two vehicles from the Black Hills Transportation Company taken by the O.A. Wik photo studio (Rapid City, S.D.). The image dates to the 1920s. Also included are six posters (11”x14”) of the six South Dakota Democratic candidates running for various positions in the state during the November 7, 1950 election. The individuals and the seat running for include Joe Robbie (Governor), John Engel (U.S. Senator), Jay P. Larsen (State Treasurer), Selma Sandness (Secretary of State), R.A. Swanson (Commissioner of School and Public Lands) and Goldie Wells (Public Utilities Commissioner).
