Content Description
The collection consists of railroad register sheets for the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railroad Company station at Mobridge (S.D.). The large sheets (19”x 48”) include a wealth of information from the handwritten dispatcher’s records including: dispatcher on duty, engineman and conductor names, engine numbers, number of cards used, junction names and mileage, passenger and freight service information, weather records and information on each day’s work. Also included are reports on various rail lines with the main line running from Mobridge to Marmarth (N.D.) and other lines such as the Moreau River, Cheyenne and Standing Rock. The sheets date from January to March 1928, August 1940 and January to July 1941, with the absence of the June 1941 register sheets.
