Content Description
The collection consists of materials associated with the Paulson family of Stanley/Haakon County dating form the 1890s to 1950s. Nels and Marin Paulson traveled from Denmark to the United States in 1900. The journal provides daily operations of the brother’s work on the farm. Additional journal photocopies from 1922, 1924 and 1925 are included with the collection. Also included are thirteen issues of “Den Danske Pioneer’s” “The Danish Pioneer’s” an publication out of Omaha (NE) which features news, various stories and poems (in Danish) for Danish pioneers settling in the Midwest and Great Plains. A folder list of the other items is provided below. Additional items were added to the Vertical File collection under “Hayes, S.D.” and “Moenville, S.D.” A Farm Directory for Stanley and Hughes Counties was added to our phone directory collections.
