Content Description

The collection consists of thirty South Dakota postcards, two photographs and a road map of South Dakota. The postcards and photographs cover various topics and areas throughout South Dakota’s history. A list of the postcards and images are provided below. Most of the photos date to the 1910s-1920s. The road map titled, “Goodrich Road Map of North and South Dakota” dates to 1920. The map, published by the Goodrich Travel and Transportation Bureau, features towns and roads within North and South Dakota with a legend designating “Main” and “Secondary” automobile highways. The back of the map features road maps for Sioux Falls (S.D.) and Fargo (N.D.), mileage amounts to and from various towns and a number of Goodrich Tire advertisements. The map measures 18 ½” x 24”.
