Content Description

This collection consists of two black and white 8x10 glossy photographs. The photographs are reprints of the originals. The people in the photographs and the exact dates are unknown. Whitney was a post office settlement in Perkins County. The town survived from 1909 to 1928. The population in 1909 was about 150. One photograph is of a town street scene with two young girls in the forefront. The names Phyllis and Mable have been written beneath the images of the girls. Whitney, South Dakota was also written on the photograph. The other photograph, presumably Whitney, is of a homestead with two wagons. A woman and a young child are seated in one wagon.
