This collection consists of materials collected by Homer Ayres including one cash ledger, 1982-1999; Independent Stockgrowers Association Board Meeting Minutes, 1968-1999; By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation, ISA Mailing List, Financial papers, Income and Expenses, 1968-1982; ISA Dissolution, and newspaper articles. Mr. Ayres, a Perkins County resident, was a cowboy, rancher, horse breeder, writer, reporter and editor who worked to promote the interests of farmers and ranches throughout South Dakota. He played a significant role in the Independent Stockgrowers Association and was inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame in 1989.
