Content Description
The collection consists of one laminated map (36”x 48”) showing the wagon train route for the 125th Statehood Anniversary Wagon Train held September 3 to September 20, 2014. The wagon train, to commemorate the states 125th anniversary, started in Yankton and ended in Pierre. The South Dakota Draft Horse and Mule Association sponsored the wagon train ride. Towns along the route included Yankton, Tabor, Scotland, Tripp, Parkston, Mitchell, Plankinton, Wessington Springs and Pierre. Legend information includes noon and night wagon train stop locations, highway information and road surface types. The South Dakota Department of Transportation, Division of Planning and Engineering prepared the map. The Office of the Governor transferred this map to the State Archives.
