Content Description

This collection consists of four scrapbooks, one memory book, and oversize unidentified photographs. Elizabeth Brown attended Huron High School; married A. Claire Smith in July 20,1929, and lived in Mitchell after her marriage. Notable are the images of the Black Hills, the photographs of people from Huron, momentos that Biz saved of Huron High School, and the photographs of women showing the styles of the 1920s.

FB 438 1) Memory Book, June –October 1920. The book contains pages of memories written by Biz’s high school friends. 2) Photograph album, 1906-1922 Biz, her parents, friends, relatives, Black Hills (1907, 1915), Huron College 1910, swimming, hunting, cars, and sports teams. Loose photographs were placed in a separate folder. 3) Scrapbook, 1917-1927 Contains dance cards, newspaper articles, place cards, momentos, telegrams, programs, letters, ticket stubs, and party invitations. Loose items were placed in folders corresponding with the page numbers. 4) Scrapbook, 1924-1927 Contains newspaper articles, letters, and a card indicating the wedding of Elizabeth and A.Claire. FB 415 5) Photograph album, 1929-1945 Some of the photographs are identified, while the majority of photographs are not. Includes images of Biz, Claire, Biz’s mother, pets, a trip to the Black Hills, family and friends. 6) Photograph album, 1926-1930 Contains images from a trip to the Black Hills and Chicago and relatives. Some of the images are identified. 7) Oversize unidentified photographs 3 unidentified negatives are stored in the vault under the accession number
