Content Description
This collection consists of two anniversary programs for the Salem Mennonite Church (Salem, S.D.) and the Salem-Zion Mennonite Church (Salem, S.D.). The Mennonites congregated at one church until they split in 1908. A tornado destroyed their church building constructed in 1902, and the congregation decided to rebuild. The members disagreed as to the location and the appointment of ministers. The Salem-Zion Church is the “north” church and the Salem church is the “south” church.
