Content Description

The collection consists of five images with connections to the Mathison and Jensen families of Lincoln County. Three are black and white mounted image, one is a portrait image of a soldier during World War I, and the last is a painted tintype of an unidentified man. The mounted images are as follows: Beloit Orphan Home – Beloit, IA (across from Canton) taken by photographer A T. Segrud of Canton, the wedding photo of Jens and Kristine (Mathison) Jensen who were married in 1890 – Kristine is the daughter of Isaac and Karen Mathison, the final image taken in Clarkfield, MN is of Isaac Mathison’s sister. The portrait image is of Moris Knutson in a World War I era uniform. This image was also taken by photographer A. T. Segrud of Canton, SD. The final image is a painted tintype of an unidentified man. The tintype measures 7 x 10 inches. A panoramic image titled, “Alamo Excursion Party, September 1918” was returned to the donor.
