This collection consists of one 4 ½”x 7 ½” photograph mounted onto a secondary support. The image shows wagons pulled by horses with Native Americans seated in the wagons. It is believed that the image was taken in the winter around the year 1900. The only person identified in the photograph is Edgar James Scofield. The location of the activity in the photograph is unknown. The activity in the photograph shows the movement of the Indians in South Dakota onto the reservations. A building in the background is barely visibile but is unrecognizable. Edgar James Scofield born in Michigan in 1863 and married Stella M. Kinkley in Iowa in 1894 and soon moved to Fall River County near Smithville. In 1899 the family moved to Montana.
