Marv Paulson Collection
Content Description
The collection consists of forty-six letters sent to Marvin Paulson while he attended college at South Dakota State University in Brookings (S.D.). Most of the letters are addressed to “East Men’s Hall, Brookings, S.D.” The letters date from 1945-1947 with the majority of letters postmarked to 1946. The letters were sent by a number of different individuals, with most coming from the family’s home near Sansarc (S.D.) in Stanley County. One letter, in a separate folder, includes a commencement exercise program and a number of college enrollment cards and report cards. The collection also includes a small comb-bound color photo booklet of ten images, mostly of the Mount Rushmore National Monument. A postcard of the Masonic Temple in Pierre is also included and placed in box 8538C. The collection is an accretion to H2013-111, another collection of Paulson family materials. The letters will be processed further at a later date.
