The collection consists of various materials, mostly photographs and postcards, relating to William T. Cundiff of Pukwana (S.D.) dating from the 1900s to 1930s. William Cundiff was born in Hanover, IL on August 5, 1877. He came to South Dakota in the late 1890s, having filed for a homestead claim in Brule County, Union Township. He would later live in Pukwana. He married Margaret Smith of Drakesboro (KY) on June 27, 1907. They had two daughters Thelma (1908) and Elsie (1910). He worked at the post office, the bank and also for the Jim Sanborn Ranch near Pukwana. He managed a lumber yard for Ted Weiss for several years before working as Social Security Director at Chamberlain for twelve years. Mr. Cundiff died July 29, 1949 in Pukwana.
