The collection consists of both a long and short version of a video from 2000 titled, “Indian Scouts of Fort Sisseton.” Copyright for the videos belong to Dave’s Aerial Color Photos. The film was produced and narrated by David Prieb. The film includes a number of aerial views of the area around Fort Sisseton State Park, northeastern South Dakota and southeastern North Dakota. The film provides a history of Fort Wadsworth/Sisseton along with a history of Native American inhabitants, camps and scouts and their interactions with the government, military and white settlers. Also included is some history of Fort Ransom State Park (N.D.). The film also features footage from the Fort Sisseton Historical Festival. Although not directly interviewed, the film features talks concerning Francis Crawford, Joseph Martin and Norma Johnson. Run time on the films are long version (1:26:54) and short version (32:27). Both long and short videos were processed through the State Archives digital preservation program. The files consist of 2508 megabytes of memory space. The two DVDs with the film footage were also kept and stored in box 3749F
