Badlands/Mount Rushmore Photographs, ca. 1930s
Unprocessed Material — Box: 06490 A
Identifier: H2016-005
Content Description
The collection consists of twenty three, 2 ¾” x 4 ½” photograph scenes of the Badlands and Mount Rushmore from the 1930s. There are fifteen Badlands images. Most show general Badlands scenes with some showing roads, and automobiles, through the Badlands. These images are numbered on back and were presumably taken by a professional photographer who sold them as a set. The eight Mount Rushmore images are mainly construction scenes taken of the mountain. There is one image of Gutzon Borglum's workshop. These are also assumed to be professional photographs, but none of the images are identified.
