Content Description

The collection consists of four music CDs with songs performed by Aberdeen (S.D.) accordionist and composer Bill Schwan. Schwan plays polkas, waltzes and a variety of other music. He began playing the accordion at age 3 and the piano at age 10. He won several competitions at the South Dakota Old Time Fiddlers Contest in Yankton on his accordion. He founded the “Bill Schwan Funtime Band” which has been together for a number of years playing the accordion and keyboard. He is also a member of the Dakota Musician Association’s Hall of Fame. The titles of the CDs are “Bottoms Up, Bill Schwan’s Old Time Music,” “Riding with Bill Schwan on the Polka Road,” “Bill Schwan and J.D.’s Polka Time” and “Bill Schwan’s Squeezer’s Polka Time.” There are eighteen to twenty-two songs per CD.
