The collection consists of materials relating to the 50th anniversary commemoration of the Abraham Lincoln dedication at Mount Rushmore on July 4, 1987. The collection includes eight color photographs of the unveiling of the Lincoln monument at Mount Rushmore, a program of the event, news clippings covering the event and another Mount Rushmore related brochure. The dedication program includes some signatures from former Mount Rushmore carvers. The head of Lincoln was originally dedicated on September 17, 1937 by sculptor Gutzon Borglum to honor the 150th anniversary of the United States Constitution.
