Content Description

The collection consists of photographs, family genealogy and a baptism certificate relating to members of the Keimig family who came to an area south of Estelline (S.D.) in 1919. The materials date from the early 1900s to the 1930s. Featured is a photograph of the funeral of Leo Keimig, son of Frank and Anna Keimig with family members surrounding Leo’s coffin. Leo died on June 29, 1937. The image is a reprint, but an accompanying photocopy lists the names of the individuals in the photograph. Also included are a postcard of a deceased infant, Oscar Keimig, son of Frank and Anna who died in 1909 in Nebraska; a certificate of baptism for Frank and Anna’s daughter Genevieve Keimig who was baptized at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Madison (NE) in 1916 and a photograph of a threshing rig used by the family on their farm south of Estelline. A pedigree chart of the Frank and Anna Keimig family is also included.
