The collection consists of one mailing packet promoting tourist destination in western South Dakota sent by the South Dakota Department of Highways, Publicity Division titled “Vacation in South Dakota.” The items date to 1956. Included are brochures on “Black Hills and Badlands Events for 1956,” “History of the Badlands,” written by Ted Hustead, “The Original Black Hills Passion Play,” and “When It’s Hot, stay Cool, Calm and Casual on your Black Hills Vacation.” Also included is a booklet titled “Vacation in Scenic South Dakota.” The items emphasize tourist spots in the Black Hills and Badlands region of South Dakota. The donor’s family requested and received the packet of information.
