The collection consists of one DVD titled, “Hermosa: Our Voices.” The DVD is copyrighted by C. Vision Productions to 2011 and has a running time of 80 minutes. The film was created and donated by the Hermosa Arts and History Association. The DVD covers various aspects of the history of the Hermosa area including early Native American settlement and white settlement, railroads, family histories and stories, homesteading, Hermosa development, President Coolidge in South Dakota in 1927 and general topics in Hermosa’s history such as schools, churches, businesses, organizations and other subjects. Featured are a number of interviews with historians and community members offering stories and insight into the area’s history. Most of those interviewed are identified in the film. Funding and support for the DVD was provided by the South Dakota Humanities Council, South Dakota Arts Council and other sources. The digital content was run through the State Archives digital preservation program and saved on the N: drive.
