Content Description

The collection consists of photographs, postcards and cabinet cards mainly concerning the Srstka family from the 1920s. The Czechoslovakian family lived in the Tyndall, Bon Homme County area of South Dakota. Most of the collection images have a date range from the 1890s to 1920s. Some of the 1920s images identify Srstka family members. The collection also includes a number of early prints from South Dakota photographers ranging from the 1890s to 1900s. In addition, there are a number of depot photographs from towns in southeastern South Dakota taken in the 1960s. The images were collected by former State Historical Society of North Dakota archivist Frank E. Vyzralek. The collection was transferred from the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
