The collection consists of one CD of information on the life and art of Jim Pollock. The CD includes biographical information, watercolor scans, website information, and items relating to the Vietnam Combat Art Project. The collection includes jpg and pdf files. Jim Pollock was born and raised near Pollock (S.D.). He graduated from South Dakota State University in 1965 with an Art Major. He entered service with the U.S. Army after graduating and was chosen for assignment to the U.S. Army's Vietnam Combat Artist Program. Art works completed during this assignment are in the U.S. Army Center of Military History permanent War Art Collection in Washington, D.C. Pollock has exhibited in many group and one person shows. His work can be found in many private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. He has served on the South Dakota Arts Council and was named South Dakota Artist of the Year the first year the award was given.
