The collection consists of items relating to the Sioux Falls Business and Professional Women. In addition, the collection also contains various materials on the South Dakota Business and Professional Women organization. The collection includes scrapbooks, photographs, yearbooks, programs, newsletters, bylaws, Constitution, news clippings and state convention programs. Sioux Falls Business and Professional Women began in June 1919. The local organization affiliated with Business and Professional Women, USA that fall. These pioneering women recognized the need for an organization which would elevate the standards for, promote the interests of, and extend opportunities for education to women in business and the professions. Of particular interest are a collection of photographs: representatives at the Business and Professional Women conference at St. Louis (MO) from June 1919, South Dakota delegates at the National Business and Professional Women conference in St. Paul (MN) from 1920 and a photo of the State Business and Professional Women conference in Mitchell (S.D.) from 1921.
