Content Description
The collection consists of various materials relating to the South Dakota Arborists Association. The majority of the collection includes newsletters and minutes. Other items include constitution and bylaws, certification materials and some photographs. The materials generally date from the 1980s to 2010s. Also included are digital images from the 2007 Tree Climbing Championships held in Sioux Falls (S.D.). The South Dakota Arborists Association was established in 1986 as a non-profit organization to promote, expand and otherwise improve the profession of arboriculture in South Dakota. The purpose of the association is to benefit South Dakota arborists, improve arborists image and credibility, foster and promote legitimate tree care practices, further public education, encourage arborist training, monitor state legislation and prevent statewide arborist malpractice.
