Content Description

The collection consists of six postcards of various views in South Dakota. The images, according to some of the postmarks, date from 1909 to 1911. Images include a “Greetings from Alexandria, S. Dak” postcard showing church buildings and the high school, an image of the National Bank of Alexandria (S.D.), “A View of the James River, Alexandria, S.D.,” St. Joseph’s Cathedral (Sioux Falls, S.D.), a “Greetings from Sisseton, So. Dak” postcard showing various town scenes and a postcard of Holy Family Catholic Church (Mitchell, S.D.). Three of the postcards are identified as being created by Dakota News Agency (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Bloom Bros Importers (Minneapolis, MN) and the Corner Drug Store (Alexandria, S.D.).
