Content Description
The collection consists of various materials relating to Joseph Liebl [Liebel] and his descendants. Joseph Liebl [Liebel] was born October 1834 in Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany the son of Andrew and Anna Liebl. The family immigrated to America in 1846. Joseph married twice. First to Anna Berlinger in 1856, they had five children. Joseph’s second marriage was to Emily Buettner in 1870, they had four children. Joseph moved his family Hutchinson County South Dakota in 1882 living in the county until his death. Joseph died in 1923 and is buried at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Emery (S.D.). The collection includes extensive research on Joseph and his family. Included are pedigree charts, census and land records, birth, death, marriage and related church records, obituaries, reprinted photographs and maps and other miscellaneous family records.
