Content Description
The collection consists of nine postcard views, both color-tinted and real photo, of various scenes in South Dakota dating to the 1910s. Images include a wheat field and machinery near Redfield (S.D.), the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul depot at Redfield (S.D.), Highmore (S.D.) depot and “Greetings from Highmore” postcard, Beadle County Courthouse (Huron, S.D.), Lake Byron near Huron, Eighth street concrete bridge and dam in Sioux Falls (S.D.), the falls at Sioux Falls and a collage of nine small views from Salem (S.D.). Identified photographers and/or distributors include Hopkins Bazaar (Redfield, S.D.), C. C. Slack and Co.—Photo Studio (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and J. R. Ainsworth—Photo Studio (Salem, S.D.).
