Consists of a genealogy of the Ufen family in South Dakota, which contains photocopies of birth records, a family tree, an index to the family history, a bibliography, and a glossary to foreign words contained within the text. Gerd Jurgens Ufen was born in Prussia in 1870, immigrated to the United States in 1893, and returned to Prussia to marry Katarina Kruse in 1904. They returned to the United States and settled on a homestead outside of Miller, South Dakota. At the time of donation, Mrs. Delores Joy, granddaughter of Gerd, maintained the original homestead.
