Content Description

The collection consists of two homesteader postcards and one postcard of President William Howard Taft on a campaign trip through Vermillion. The homestead images are of the Ford and Walsh Ranch near Wall, SD taken in 1907. The postcards show the exterior of two tarpaper shack homesteads and the small interior of one of the homes. The third postcard is of President Taft on the back of a train making a campaign stop in Vermillion, SD. The Vermillion depot is seen in the photo with the crowd who came to hear President Taft on September 29, 1908.
