The collection consists of over 1000 postcards collected and donated by Michael Ehrmann. The South Dakota postcards date from the 1980s to 2000s with some images being reprints of older images. The collection is organized by major tourist attractions and by county. Topics in the collection include general South Dakota postcards, Pasque flower, pheasants, buffalo, antelope, prairie dogs, Native American historical views, Falls Park (Sioux Falls, S.D.), University of South Dakota (Vermillion, S.D.), Great Plains Zoo (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Corn Palace (Mitchell, S.D.), Big Bend Dam, South Dakota State Capitol (Pierre, S.D.), Flaming Fountain (Pierre, S.D.), Oahe Dam, Badlands Petrified Garden (Kadoka, S.D.), Prairie Homestead Historic Site (Interior, S.D.), Badlands National Park, Wall Drug (Wall, S.D.), general Black Hills postcards, George S.
