The collection consists of one (18 x 26 ½ inch) 1966 edition, Phillips 66 highway map of the state of South Dakota. The map was published by the Phillips Petroleum Company, Bartlesville (OK). Featured is a highway map of South Dakota including all the state’s counties and towns. The map includes a 1960 Federal Census information for the state. The reverse of the map includes a writeup on various scenic routes in the states, a mileage chart, a more detailed highway map of the Black Hills region, a list of 25 points of interest in the state (mostly in the Black Hills), a 1966 calendar of events, as well as locations and amenities of South Dakota State Parks, state recreation areas, roadside parks, national parks, memorials and monuments and other recreational areas. The map presents the expanding route of the Interstate Highway System in the state. Also included with the donation are three color postcards of Korczak Ziolkowski, the Ziolkowski family and a postcard of Crazy Horse Monument showing various size details of the monument.
