Content Description
The collection consists of various postcard views of South Dakota. Images include Scenic Mount Rushmore Highway in the Black Hills, Totem Pole on Needles Highway, three images of the Badlands in South Dakota, the Brontosaurus at Dinosaur Park (Rapid City, S.D.), the Lutheran Church at Canton (S.D.) and the Petrified Wood Park at Lemmon (S.D.). The images date in range from the 1930s to 1950s. It is believed that the Canton Lutheran Church photo dates to the 1910s. Publishers include L. B. Hollister—Importer/Jobber (Lead, S.D.), Dan Grigg Enterprise Inc. (Mitchell, S.D.), Black Hills Novelty and Mfg. Co. (Rapid City, S.D.), Johnston and Bordewyk (Rapid City, S.D.), Tom H. Johnston (Rapid City, S.D.) and Christen Studio (Lemmon, S.D.). None of the images were found on the South Dakota Digital Archives.
