Content Description
The collection consists of three packets of miniature postcard images of Nameless Cave (Rapid City, S.D.), the Badlands and the Black Hills dating to the 1940s. The postcards are roughly 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches. The Black Hills Novelty Company (Rapid City, S.D.) is the only publisher identified in the collection, specifically on the Badlands postcard packet. The packets include address and postage locations and were intended for mailing. There are sixteen Nameless Cave real photo images, twenty Badlands color linen print images and twenty Black Hills color linen print images. Locations found in the Black Hills packet include Mount Rushmore, Harney Peak, Iron Mountain Road, Sylvan Lake, Custer State Park, State Game Lodge, Needles Highway, Spearfish Canyon, Roughlock Falls and Dinosaur Park.
