Content Description
The collection consists of photographs taken by Pierre photographer Robert W. Hines of the construction of Oahe Dam dating to the 1950s. There are over 170, 8x10 inch photographs and a small number of 5x5 inch photos showing various dam building stages. The photographs show construction at the powerhouse, stilling basin, tunnels, mole tunneling machines, aerial views of the dam construction, dirt moving efforts and the spillway. Also included are a few aerial images of Pierre, the Stanley County Courthouse and an unidentified log building.
