The collection consists of the South Dakota Centennial, postage stamp and postmarks from 1989 and miscellaneous Black Hills materials. The Commemorative Stamp Collection box includes envelopes with the South Dakota Centennial commemorative postage stamp and postmarks/cancellations from various post offices throughout South Dakota. The special cancellations were done on one specific day. The keepsake is number 942 of 1000. The remainder of the collection consists of random materials including stock certificates for the Eagle Bird Mining Company (Deadwood, S.D.), a 1911 catalog titled, “Indian Relic and Curio” for an establishment owned by L. W. Stilwell of Deadwood (S.D.), two postcard booklets of the Black Hills and one for the Badlands ca. 1930s, a commemorative “Notice” of the funeral of Wild Bill Hickok, a letter with letterhead from the Deadwood National Bank (Deadwood, S.D.) from 1892, a blank stock certificate for the Minnesota, Dakota and Pacific Railway Company, and a letter from August 11, 1886 with letterhead from the Headquarters Department of Dakota, Fort Snelling, MN.
