The collection consists of two pages of a historical tour narrative titled, “Prairie Needles,” developed by the Roberts County Historical Society. The narrative is an introduction to a traveling tour of Roberts County. The stops included church locations, scout camps, Indian villages, and individuals such as Stephen Return Riggs, Chief Gabriel Renville, and Benjamin Thompson. The narrative is an introduction to what the travelers would have heard along the tour. The narrative also includes a sketch of the grounds of the Goodwill Mission Church and school site created by Ed Crawford, a 1906 graduate of the school. The sketch shows all the buildings associated with the church and school. The Congregation was organized on August 31, 1868. Construction began on the first buildings in 1870.
