The collection consists of fifty-nine (59) reels of microfilm. John Collier (May 4, 1884 - May 8, 1968) was an American social reformer and Native American advocate. Collier was Executive Director of the Indian Defense Association from 1922 to 1933 and United States Commissioner of Indian Affairs from 1933-1945. Two microfilm guides to the John Collier papers accompanied the collection. One will be placed in the research room the other will be in the accession folder. The guide has an index to each microfilm reel and its contents.
